The default Max file upload size in phpMyAdmin is 2MB. If we want to handle databases of size more than 2 MB then we will need to increase the Max File Upload size. How to increase Max File Upload size in phpMyAdmin XAMPP?

For instance, you are moving your blog / website which is some 5 years old and the database size would be more than 2MB. To move your site from one host to another you will need to move your databases too, but as the max upload limit is just 2MB we get struck here.

How to Increase Max File Upload size in phpMyAdmin

#1. Open your XAMPP directory and head to php directory.
#2. Search for php.ini file (php Configuration file).
#3. Search for: post_max_size (it is located in 770th line approx).
#4. Change the Limit to 50M, from now you can upload database files upto 50MB.
#5. Restart your XAMPP Server and you should be able to see the changes now.
